Locate Current And Update Solidigm™ SSD Firmware Using Solidigm Tools

Summary

Solidigm™ provides three different tools to get the latest firmware for our products.

Download: Solidigm Synergy™ Toolkit

The Solidigm Synergy™ Toolkit is focused on Solidigm Client NVMe* SSDs.

The GUI is the expected use case. The CLI allows for scripts to check and perform the update.

Note: SST GUI appearance could be different for newer version.

Launch the "Solidigm Synergy™ Toolkit."
Locate the desired drive in the Drives tab
Select "Firmware Update" tab
- Status declares:
  - Up to Date or Out of Date
- 'Current Firmware' is what is currently on the SSD.
- 'Status' is newer firmware, if different.
The "Update" button appears if newer firmware is available

Open the CLI as admin. [Help]
Get the reference to drive. [Help]
Run the command:
- sst load -ssd <ref>
Read the warning message.
- Type "Y", press "Enter" to proceed.

NOTE: Leaving the reference out will update all possible drives.

The Solidigm™ Storage Tool is focused on Solidigm™ Data Center SSDs.

The CLI is the expected use for users, which scripts to check and perform mass updates.

If your drives are behind a RAID card, you may have to remove them for updating. See SST Configuration.

Launch the "Solidigm™ Storage Tool."
Select "Firmware Update" tab.
Locate the desired drive.
- 'Current Firmware' is what is currently on the SSD.
- 'Latest Firmware' is newer firmware, if different.
The update button appears if newer firmware is available.
- Click "Update", to update to the latest firmware.

NOTE: Leaving the reference out will update all possible drives.

This tools single use is to updating firmware of Solidigm SSDs outside an operating system. Getting it setup and booted is the hardest part.

Read the User Guide for help on making the ISO image bootable and usage, per your operating system.
